Parrhesia Inc signs Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ukrainian based non-profit organisation ‘Foundation for Institutional Development’ (FID). FID is a quasi-government public organization that unites experts in the field of law, criminal justice, and compliance to strengthen the capacity of state institutions to implement change and develop Ukrainian society in accordance with world democratic values. On the 27th February, Parrhesia Inc welcomed Dr Oksana Bronevytska, the CEO of FID, who gave an inspiring talk on ‘Building a Responsive Counselling Capacity in Ukraine’ and the work of the FID in protecting and supporting whistleblowers.
Both parties committed to share information on policy formulation for the improvement of protection of whistleblowers, offer access to leading researchers and partners who support their work on whistleblowing and to support programmes and initiatives of the other party where they are of mutual interest and benefit in advocating for the human rights of whistleblowers in both the United Kingdom and Ukraine.
The Ukrainian based non-profit organisation ‘Foundation for Institutional Development and UK based whistleblower charity Parrhesia Inc joined together in November 2022 in efforts to strengthen whistleblower protection through increasing mechanisms for support for whistleblowers, broadening the definition of whistleblower and offering psychological support for whistleblowers during the ongoing conflict. Th signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation is a significant milestone in a joint relationship signalling mutual benefits and a wish for a firm ongoing partnership to better protect whistleblowers in both countries.
